Greetings !
Hello, and Welcome to our new website!
We hope you find it easier to navigate the new layout, and be able to quickly find what you need to know, even if it's only a phone number or link.
As the company has changed it's operational emphasis from computer repairs on an 'as need' basis, to Preventative Maintenance in order to overcome 'downtime' during working hours, we had to change our web presence, to reflect this fundamental shift in operations.
The website is now simpler to operate, and if you have any suggestions on it, good or bad, we would like to hear from you. Please use our info@ccal.net address to make your comments.
Also regarding the Preventative Maintenance Process itself, you can see from the substantial changes that we are making (below) that we have been continually developing the facility, to refine it as much as possible, without increasing the cost, thus adding significantly to the value of the service.
Other Changes.
Hardware to go under PMF
Current Preventative Maintenance Facility (PMF) clients will be pleased to know that all faulty hardware will now be replaced without charge, under the new PMF specification.
Each existing client will be receiving an updated PMF Specification for each of their systems, to show changes in what is now additionally covered.
We are pleased to be able to say that our efforts at making a comprehensive Prevenataive Maintenance Facility to include hardware, will be in place from 1st September 2008.
Click here for more details of PMF's.
Weekly System Backup facility.
From 1st September, all workstations will have their "Primary Disk" backed up on a weekly basis. This is where the Windows operating system and client's applications are installed.
Up until now this service was performed on a Bi-Annual or Quarterly basis (whatever the client required.) This means that the client's workstations are now kept backed up to a very recent time, so that should there be application updates, new applications, Windows settings changes, etc., all will be present in the most recent backup.
Notice Board.
We have also setup a new "notice board" for our Preventative Maintenance Facility clients, to allow a common area for clients with similar IT, or application issues. You can email your queries/issues to info@ccal.net, or fax 01-8422143
The hope is that such a facility will help our users be aware of problems/queries that other people using the same applications, have become aware of, and solutions that either we or others have presented, to correct those problems. This might help prevent other clients from having to "re-invent the wheel" so to speak, to solve the same issue.
We will always say if solutions presented have been fully tested, or not, to prevent complications.
If the "notice board" proves popular, we will advance it to have an individual client login feature, as well as the "public" notice board, and a full history of Questions & Answers for Support on all issues that are posted.
Off-Site Backup facility
Since we started the Preventative Maintenance Facility in March 2006, we have developed our own Off-site backup programs which were tested rigorously for the reliability required for our client's critical data files.
The Backup Programs have since been developed to have the data files encrypted SAFELY, so that they are both secure, and reliable. Only clients have the encryption passkey, so the data can only be restored by the client.
Off-site DVD Backups are now also encrypted due to the fact that they are mobile.
Finally, again due to the need for data protection of files that change so much each hour, that a day's backup is no longer acceptable, we have developed and tested our own Continuous Data Backup system, which ensures that when a certain number of changes are saved to the data file, a backup of it is started immediatley.
This is not the commercially available "Continuous Data Protection" system that backs up incremental changes to a "seeded" backup, and then tries to update the seeded file with all the increments at some later time.
